Helen Vilante Lewis Stephens, 95, formerly of Wolf Creek School Road, wife of the late Hovie Stephens, passed away Wednesday, July 14, 2010.
Born on November 9, 1914 in Anderson County, she was the daughter of the late John Frank and Mae Fleming Lewis.
Mrs. Stephens was retired from Sangamo Electric and was a member of Secona Baptist Church.
Surviving are three children, Tommy Stephens and his wife, Betty, of Pickens, Richard Stephens also of Pickens, and Brenda Stewart and her husband, Phillip, of Easley; three grandchildren, Crystal Chandler, Leslie Bailey, and Bart Stephens; five great grandchildren, Megan Chandler, Cooper Chandler, Brady Bailey, Gray Stephens and Morgan Stephens; a sister, Irene Breazeale of Pickens; and a brother, Edwin Lewis of Pickens.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two sons, Jerry Stephens and Lewis Stephens; two sisters, Gertrude Hughes and Frances Stowe; and three brothers, Albert Lewis, Capers Lewis and John Frank Lewis.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 16, 2010 at 3:00 PM at Secona Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30 PM until 2:30 PM at the church.
The family will be the home of Tommy Stephens, 156 Glassy Mountain St., Pickens, SC 29671.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Secona Baptist Church, 234 Secona Road, Pickens, SC 29671.
